The vocals are always a complete letdown for TTNG, he sings the same melody for every song.

i agree with that. they need some new tricks, although their old tricks are pretty amazing.

The repetition comes from a lot of their songs being in the same key I think. However, I still love the rhythmic variations so much most of the time I am ok with it. As long the vocals aren't distractingly bad, and they are def not, I will continue to be ok with it =]

Yea, i agree with tyler. I've been reading around and he uses a specific open tuning in all of their songs, which obviously makes all the songs in close to the same key. If he used a capo or a different tuning, i wonder what doors that would open. But they're still really great, and like posted earlier the music is always top notch. I like how they're really exploring the sound they've got. Its awesome.
