Little Joy- S/T

Drummer from the Strokes side project. Sounds like a more beachy, laid back Strokes. Very nice to chill out to. Great album art which I don't know how to put on here.

Dark Was the Night Compilation

I don't usually dig compilations, but this is a really great one. Unreleased songs from Dirty Projectors (w/ David Byrne), Grizzly Bear, Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, The Books, and Iron and Wine are all wonderful. Like real good. I might go buy this, actually.

Edit: More thoughts. The two new Bon Iver songs (one under Justin Vernon's name) make up for the Blood Bank EP disappointment. You also must listen to the entire new Sufjan electronica epic. I took down the links because you need to buy this. If you don't, you're killing people with HIV.

Band of Annuals-Let Me Live

I'm getting a strong Rocky Votolato vibe from these guys, and I like it. Pretty awesome alt-country or Americana or whatever you want to call it. Nice female vocals too. The only downfall is that the last song tries to be serious while using terms like "hard-on" and "bed buddies."

Animal Collective- Merriweather Post Pavillion

So I know that Animal Collective can do better than this album, but I can't for the life of me stop listening to "My Girls."

Pretty sick music video too. If you like that song, you'll like the album.

Shapes Like Dinosaurs- Jurassic Geometry EP

A little shameless self promotion here. This is my band's new EP with some re-recorded old songs and a new song or two. We are kinda like Joan of Arc, Ghosts and Vodka, Pele, etc. Chiller mathy stuff. Let me know what you think!

(this is the high quality versions, so sorry for the size, but it sounds a lot better~)

Foxhole- Push/Pull

If you enjoy mathier post-rock such as El Ten Eleven, Mercury Program, Samuel Jackson 5, Tenebre, etc. then you'll enjoy this. Very chill but kinda dancey too.

Phosphorescent- To Willie

Dear Lord,

Thank you for letting me live long enough to hear a record of Willie Nelson covers by Matthew Houck. It is pretty awesome. Also, forgive me for stealing it, but to be fair, I can't buy it til February.

Love Every Bunny Nestle.

Horse Feathers- Words Are Dead

Folky goodness. Sounds like Thomas Kozak (if you know him) mixed with some Damien Rice and Iron and Wine, but better arrangements than both (possibly). And they have a super cool name, IMHO
