Iron and Wine- Walking Home EP

Genre: folk rock, indie

Featuring the first single from his new album and two B-sides, Iron and Wine's "Walking Home" EP is a good first look at the new album. I'm pretty interested to see how this album will compare to "Shepherd's Dog," which was a dramatic departure from earlier works. If it's anything like this EP, it'll be more of the electronic experimentation and full band work. I can do without the B-sides, but the title track is great.

Mike Slott - "Flunky + Lucky 9Teen"

Beat music has most certainly arrived as a widely recognized and respected form of musical art. In a time where just about any modern computer has the ability to become a fully functioning recording studio, aspiring hip hop inflected electronic composers are coming out of the woodwork all over the world; sans vocals.

Mike Slott is at the top of the heap.

Theres just something indescribably unique about the glitching, careening caterwaul of sound collage and slinky rhythmic propulsion that his production unveils. This music is equally suited for quiet reflecting with headphones or volume cranking on a scenic drive. I particularly love his unique use, and combination of synthesizers and chirpy, melodic samples.

In short, I listen to this alot, and I think you should try it out.

Sorry for the lull in every bunny activity. I am now moved into my new apartment in Boulder, Colorado and have a renewed enthusiasm for musical pursuits. Stay tuned. I really do mean it this time =]

Eric & Magill- All Those I Know

Genre: indie, ambient, folk

Thanks to Brian for this awesome find. Lovin the ambient yet folky vibe. Kind of reminds me of some early Moving Mountains stuff.

Loose Lips Sink Ships/Victor Villareal- Eating Happens

Genre: math rock

Honestly haven't listened yet, but I know it's gonna be cool. Victor is a legend and Loose Lips is awesome (from my experience). Enjoy!
