Delorean- Ayrton Senna (Bonus Track Version)

Photobucket
Genre: dance pop, electro-indie

Do you want to:
-Feel like spring is coming?
-Not care about things?
-Nod your head because you're too cool to dance in your dorm room?

Then you should check this out. Similar to Passion Pit or MGMT but minus the annoying qualities that both share. There's some cool production on here too.

Dr. Dog- "Shame, Shame" Stream

Genre: folk rock, indie

Check out the entire new Dr. Dog album on NPR. I'm liking it quite a bit even though it's a lot like their last album.

Tom Brock - "I Love You More and More"

Thats right. A soul album. Fantastic melodies and good vibes. The title track, "there's nothing in this world...." and "naked as the day I was born" are my favorites.

Cheyenne Marie Mize- Before Lately

Genre: folk, indie

Remember that album I posted a while back, Among the Gold, a collection of songs from the early 20th century by Cheyenne Mize and Bonnie Price Billy? Maybe you do. Well Cheyenne was nice enough to update me on her goings on, and she just released a new EP online, along with the previously mentioned album in digital form. You can find them both here:

The new EP is quite good, for fans of Horse Feathers, Bright Eyes, Azure Ray, etc. Check it out!

Keith Fullerton Whitman - "Playthroughs"

My go to record for thinking, studying, and meditation. This is pure wave generation however, so if you are not in to textural ambient tone music, then you should probly skip this. For me though, this music gives me a lovely calming sensation that is perfect for when I am in a lousy mood, or just need to wind down.

We All Have Hooks for Hands- The Shapes of Energy

Genre: indie rock

Photobucket

I had heard one song from this album a while back, "Made Up of Tiny Lights," and was impressed. It was nothing extremely new, but the band did it well. The entire album kind of left me with that impression. There are traces of other recent bands in here, like Surfer Blood, Broken Social Scene, and maybe even a little Built to Spill or Pavement. Singer has a pretty cool voice, but I could see how some would think it's a little annoying. Nothing revolutionary, but a great springtime indie rock album.

Tables and Seats

Me and Sam's good buddy Daniel just started a blog. You should read his first post.

The Tallest Man on Earth- The Wild Hunt

Genre: folk, songwriter, indie

Photobucket

Pretty much exactly like his last album, "Shallow Graves," but this guy is a pretty neat songwriter and creative guitar player, not to mention having a crazy voice. There's also a little more layering of instruments this time around instead of just solo guitar. If you like twangy folk songs, give it a shot. Comparisons to Bob Dylan are not unwarranted.
