Sufjan Stevens- All Delighted People

Genre: Sufjan

New EP that got a surprise internet release today! Haven't listened, but I'm sure it's awesome, and supposedly "epic."

Light Skits- Nooks and Crannies

Genre: punk, math rock

Tyler and I are both in this band, and we just had our CD release show this week. I'm very happy with how the CD turned out, and I would love for you guys to download it and give your opinions. Here's my fav song:

Bars of Gold- S/T stream

Genre: indie rock

Members of the best band of all time, Bear vs. Shark, come together to do... something. I'm not sure if this is good or not. But it's interesting, and has some cool parts. And Marc Paffi is my favorite person, so. Check it out.

s.carey- All We Grow

Genre: singer/songwriter, indie

The main drummer from Bon Iver's solo project. Slow piano or guitar rhythms are supplemented by the occasional handclap or kick drum, but mostly the lilting vocals and simple melodies carry this nice album along. Think of the ambiance of Bon Iver mixed with the rhythmic and arranging tricks from another drummer's side project, Birthmark. A little more variety would have been nice, as well as two or three more tracks, but this is a great start for the songwriter. (Note: Jagjaguwar is quickly becoming the best label out there.)

Bon Iver + Kanye West??

Yeah, so, pretty sweet news. Justin Vernon is on the next Kanye West single. He also did things with Nicki Minage, John Legend, and Rick Ross, not to mention beatmaster Pete Rock. Check the interview below.

Bigg Surr- "Miss You Most EP"

Genre: beach pop

Great end of summer album that is both super catchy and heavy. Sounds like The Drums meets Best Coast. The best song is definitely "Gone," but the whole album is worth a listen.

Tyondai Braxton Leaves Battles

Our first music news post! Hooray! Well when I first read this (via Pitchfork) I was like, "Oh shit." But now I'm thinking it might be kinda good. Like maybe Ian Williams will take a more leading role. He needs to live up to his potential like he was doing in the beginning with Storm & Stress and Don Cab.

Any thoughts?

Colour Revolt- The Cradle

Genre: indie, rock

Listen to the entire new Colour Revolt album here. I'm not exactly sure what happened to the band since their last album, but they apparently only have two members left. The album sounds pretty good, although there's no way it can top "Plunder, Beg, and Curse."
