I knew I would love this album immediately when I heard the crazy 9/8 piano figure that opens "Blue Rondo A La Turk". The use of classically influenced meters in a jazz context is pretty much the main theme of the album. Brubeck's sophisticated arrangements are rounded out by the smooth-but-not-showy alto sax playing of Paul Desmond. Highly recommended.

i love how your posts are getting more classy while mine become sloppy and immature, haha.
Great post, but don't forget about Joe Morello on drums - very influential to a lot of influential drummers.
Great post man!
